As we journey through the sacred season of Lent, we would like to share how this meaningful period is being observed within our organization.
Lent is a special time in the Christian calendar dedicated to prayer, fasting, reflection, repentance, and acts of love and charity. For us, it has become more than a tradition — it is a powerful opportunity for both the children and staff to grow spiritually and renew their commitment to positive values.
Daily Prayer and Devotion
Each day, we gather for prayer and short devotional teachings. The children are learning about forgiveness, humility, gratitude, and kindness. Through simple reflections, they are discovering that even small acts of love and sacrifice can make a meaningful difference.
Fasting and Self-Discipline
With age-appropriate guidance, we are teaching the importance of self-discipline during this season. Older children are learning about responsible fasting, while younger ones are encouraged to give up small comforts or negative habits and replace them with positive behaviors such as helping others and showing respect.
Acts of Charity and Service
Lent reminds us to care for those around us. Even with limited resources, the children are practicing generosity by sharing, supporting one another, and participating in simple acts of service within our community. They are learning that true generosity begins in the heart.
Encouraging Moral and Spiritual Growth
We have also created space for small group discussions where children can talk openly about their challenges, hopes, and personal growth. These conversations have strengthened unity, encouraged emotional healing, and deepened their sense of belonging.
For many of the children, who come from difficult backgrounds, this season has been both spiritually enriching and emotionally uplifting. They are learning that their circumstances do not define their future — that faith, discipline, and love can transform their lives.
At the same time, while we focus on spiritual nourishment, we continue to face practical challenges. Providing daily meals, educational support, and basic necessities remains a significant responsibility. Lent reminds us that we are called to walk this journey together.
We warmly invite our friends and supporters to join us during this sacred season by:
Praying with and for our children
Supporting meals and essential supplies
Contributing toward educational needs
Sharing encouragement and messages of hope
Your support is not just generosity — it is a living expression of the true spirit of Lent.
As we continue this journey of renewal and hope, we are deeply grateful for your partnership. May this season bring peace, strength, and blessings to you and your families.
